I took Izzy pony-riding, then at home, we made a wreath with yellow flowers (Dandelions) to celebrate Beltane.

Later, when the kids were in bed I lit a ‘smudge stick’, made from Sage, to ‘cleanse’ the house.

Total wild time – Izzy about 2 hours, Ethan ?

17th – 23rd February 2017 – A hellish week

This was a hellish week. Izzy passed herĀ cold on to me (and my mum), then B had to go into hospital for a minor operation and afterwards stayed in bed, recovering, whilst I tried to keep everybody alive for the next week. I managed to take E and Bramble out for some walks around Colyton and we spent some time enjoying the garden, but mostly we watched films and left the house as little as possible.

Total wild time – barely any

6th October 2016 – Geocaching

It was our first attempt at geocaching and we hadn’t exactly figured out what we were doing, but we managed to find a little log book at a cache close to Colyton Church and added our names. Then, we tried to find another one by the green bridge. No joy, but we did enjoy counting the ducks, seeing the swimming Black-headed Gulls and a Kingfisher fly by.

Izzy took lots of photos on my phone of the flowers in the public garden.IMG_20161006_164306292

Total wild time – 1 hour 10 mins

28th September 2016 – Ivy flowers

IMG_20160928_103854254It was a gorgeous morning to take E and the dog for a walk. There were birds, including Great Tits, singing, as if it was Spring. We passed an Ivy bush buzzing with bees, flies, hoverflies and wasps, which were all enjoying the strongly scented flowers.

After school, we took the kids to the playground in Seaton and there was a dramatic drop in temperature, with a sea mist rolling in.

Total wild time – 30 mins
